As an outreach educator with this US-based not-for-profit, I regularly give presentations and host "ask a marine biologist" discussions with classrooms and community groups from around North America. My goal for these classroom connections is to humanize science, encourage enthusiasm for learning, and answer questions about my education and career path for students of all backgrounds.
